Inside

Inside

A Poem by Zion

Inside we have holes in our hearts

On the outside our smiles hide the hurt

We bleed and bleed

But put up barriers so no one can see

We think that that helps other people

In the end we only hurt ourselves

In the end we know we can't excape it

We think they are going to hurt us

Even more if we try to explain

On the inside there are things that we would not share

Even to our closest friends

On the outside we say that we tell you all

I do not mean to lie and decieve

But it's the only way out of this disease

We over think and over examine

Every bit of news we here

We want to ask questions

But fear the answers

I wonder if we will eventually tell everything

Even if it destroys us all

It has freed me to tell the truth, being honest with self and others. Denial will leave you in ruins. Only thing to correct here is Escape. Beautifully written, my friend and insightful. Keep writing. It will get better.
