Caveliers

Caveliers

A Poem by Zion

Getting shut up

In this beat up old shack

Was the least of my worries

I watched out the window for them

Then here they came

Across the valley

From the northeast

Grabbed my fiance and a couple guns

went outside

went into the barn

Got on the horse with her behind me

Ran them till we got to the ridge

Looked back

They were almost upon us

Grabbed two guns

Swung off the horses back

Gave one of the guns to my love

And told her I loved her one last time

Told her to continue

And slapped the horses thigh

And she was gone

Got me some caveliers on my back

Now to shoot them off

One by one

Can't say I didn't try

Five out of nine isn't bad

Now they were in range to fire back

Got my feet on solid ground

But no where to run

Guess there wasn't any hope

But I kept on shooting

Till the dust settled

A cavelier shot me

I lay there on the ground

With blood pouring out of my chest

I guess they never expected

That my heart was on my right

Instead of the left

Shot back

He fell

All of them dead

And I was next

OR so it seemed

Her she came

Riding on that stallion

Stopped next to me

Cleaned my would

I felt so alive

For the first time

I felt the blood ruch

Back into my viens

I rode off into the sunset

Where I would finally

Spend eternity with you
