JabberwockA Story by L.M.W.Based off of the original Jabberwocky poem by Lewis CarrollWith the stars shining bright, and the filthy slimy toves about, the borogoves were murking away, and the mome raths were grabbing at the night. Concerned father was he, throwing warnings to his only kin. “Beware the Jabberwock!” yelled he,” His claws and jaws will catch and bite, do not belittle the Jubjub bird, nor the frumious Bandersnatch!” With glance back to his worrisome father, he set out to protect his only family. Vorpal sword sharpened to go,the son ventured out to face his manxome foe. Through the mystic forest he fought and slayed the Jubjub bird, he savored the taste of the fallen Bandersnatch. Rest he did at the Tumtum tree, replenishing hi strength with the tree’s sweet nectar. He can’t help but wonder about his father, hoping he is safe till’ he returns tomorrow. The evil Jabberwock’s existence was a threat to all neighboring people, he needs to be slated to protect his father. With thoughts of excitement, he slept away. The Jabberwock was no fool, he was aware of the young foe who wished to dissipate he. Watching he was, as the boy slept, thinking to himself,” The boy is a warrior, that you can see, but is he enough to defeat me?” With cocky air armoring the Jabberwock, he decided to end it near. Awoken by the sense of danger, the son stood tall, seeing through the eyes to the fire inside the Jabberwock’s soul. With vorpal sword in hand, the fight was vociferous yet deadly silent. It ended with our young warrior standing tall with pride in his hand in the shape of a Jabberwock head. “My boy has slayed what no man dare, he tasted true power, and exemplified strength!” Together they celebrated and carried on the tales of the mighty Jabberwock, and the fearsome son who remained on top. Generation through generation the head was treasured throughout the family, demonstrating how the mighty had fallen.© 2015 L.M.W. |
