True SelfA Poem by L.M.W.We are who we are inside. Her smile derived from a discrete task. Adding a twinkle in watery eyes. She forgot- put on the troubled kid mask. Innocence, a second skin for the lies. Don’t peer beneath the windows of her soul. You’ll find the cold unbearable to hold. Though I try I can’t seem to take the toll. She has no remorse. I try to stay bold. Life knows she’s a danger, yet helps her through. When I look at her the fear's in my veins. I know her perspective, what she would do. She hates the world, she says it’s all in vain. Though I resist in time we will unite. Two souls, two minds, one body. I can’t fight. © 2015 L.M.W. |
