Bullied.

Bullied.

A Poem by NhesceyWrites/

Little boy, 6 years old.

Parents never around.

Playing on the swingset all alone.

No one will acknowledge his existance.

Growing up without saying a word.

Now 12 years of age.

Other boys pick and tease him.

'He's so small.'

'He's so quiet.'

'He's so weird.'

He cries himself to sleep often.

17 years old.

No friends.

Nobody will ever say a word to him

other than,

'You emo kid! Go cut yourself some more.

Go find your boyfriend you little queer.'

Bullies are the only people who know that he is alive.

Living in a foster home,

nobody wants to get to know him.

The first day of his senior year.

Nothing has changed.

Everyone is still making fun of him.

He charges back to the foster home.

He grabs a pen and some paper and starts to let everything out for the first time.

He kills himself shortly after finishing the note.

Bullying is something that we need to be more aware of. Kids like to make fun of the weaker ones, that gets us nowhere in life.

thank you for the review.
children learn from what they see and hear. what is right is what is accepted - until it isn't accepted. Watch a sitcom and listen for the soundtrack - then notice what happened as relates to what you heard. Even in cartoons...

Bullying is not a new phenomina, nor even an old one... it's a continual one. How each individual "deals" with witnessing it, being its target, and being its cause (unknowingly OR with intent) is how you learn the price of being the person you are. It isn't easy to actually RISK (caps intended) your self (two words) regardless of what society and political correctness seems (also intended) to say you should. Life isn't fair, and good is a judgement call often based on the cost. It's hard being a person that cares ...it gets lonely sometimes. Anyway, no preaching.

You said alot... I hope you remember it when you need to.

Thanks for reviewing.
I feel a little more...I don't know, almost attached to this piece you've written. I was bullied constantly for almost 15 years, until I moved up down to Fresno, after that things got better, but if I hadn't moved, who knows. Maybe I could have been the boy this poem depicts.

thank you for the review.. I'm sorry that happened to you, glad things got better.
This very much explains how bullying works, it's so sad to know that so many times it results in suicide for the person being bullied. Nicely written. :)

You're welcome. :)
It;s sad to see people who do this for their own amusement and don't realize how much they are scaring the other person, I think sums up the most bullied kids. The worst part of bullying is the people who just stand there and watch, it makes me wonder what's going through some of these people's heads. It's a shame so many kids don't get to see their true potential in life because bullies scar their childhood for them..overall nice write, and it got the message through very well.
