The Silent SongbirdA Poem by Hannah MorganThe morning concert I hear every day from my window inspired this piece.A member of nature’s choir takes flight, Ceasing freedom for another day. Their ballads, their arias and melodies fill the air.
From within a concrete nest build by man, An opening allows the music in but joy cannot be found. The nest is camouflaged cage, The inhabitant, a self-imposed prisoner who lost her song. Her soul, her harmony, Silence is her only lyric.
The feathered minstrels take flight, Ceasing freedom every day in song. Beckoning the silent songbird to accompany them once more.
