Your Eyes

Your Eyes

A Poem by Adrienne St.Romain

Your eyes shy me away,

With only a glimpse,

They fumble my words and nervousness sets in.

My heart smiles at the thought,

Like the warmth of sunshine on my skin,

Your eyes...your eyes.

Yes!

Are you speaking to me?

Then your voice quivers my soul,

Nevertheless, its only frivilous conversation.

Your eyes cantallate a song in my ear,

Asking...

Have you felt my sufferings?

Have you walked my boulevards?

Winding in and out,

Like an oil slick in the sea,

Consuming life with just one touch,

Colliding with the rules of pallid reality versus your noir.

If only you could see,

That my eyes are ambitiously answering back,

Wanting to free you from this dismay,

Of aphotic cognition.

So mysterious you are,

Your eyes painting the canvas,

Of shared ideas and dreams,

Or what should or shouldnt be.

Your eyes stand behind a measure,

Of brotherhood which would shatter like peices of glass,

With only one movement between two dreamers.

Your eyes tell a story,

I wish I could read,

Yet I am limited to only the biography,

And your eyes,

Will never be mine to look into,

So beautiful your eyes are.
