Invisible

Invisible

A Poem by Elizabeth
"

I wrote this poem back in the 8th grade, I didn't feel belonged when I got there and I just moved there. I even said this poem at the school talent show that year.

"
Why don't you see me?
Why don't you hear me?
I'm standing here with you
I want to belong
Why don't you invite me into your group?
Why don't you share your jokes with me?
I'm standing here with you
I want to belong
I could be in your play
If I could hear what you say
I could play on your team
If you weren't quite so mean
I'm standing here with you
I want to belong
I'm standing up taller
I'm listening real hard
I'm reaching to catch when you throw me the ball
I'll find a group where my hearing won't matter
I'll show everyone that I really do matter
I'm standing here with you
And now I'll belong

well written everyone should be invited in to a group of there choosing and be welcome by all members. The welcoming committee should extend a hand and read you poetry or throw you the ball let you bat up take your swings feel as if your a belonging to the human race after all I read in National Geographic there are 700 billion on the Earth Everyone should feel welcome in the brotherhood of humans.

One of my favorite poems on this site by far, this is how every child must feel when they move to a new school. Excellent job!!
