They Call Me MAD!

They Call Me MAD!

A Poem by Lizzy Elliot
"

The youth of today are the leaders of tomorrow,It is time to wake and toil for a better tomorrow.

"
I sit and ponder,
At the sight of my people,
I wonder...
They're talking and bickering,
They forget they should be listening.

I voice that this makes me sad,
They turn back;
They call me MAD!

The husband should care,
The wife should never dare.
The leaders should create a path of victory;
Not lead his people to misery.
They live in vanity
Consequently birthing the insanity of poverty.

I voice that this makes me sad,
They turn back;
They call me MAD!

I refuse to let this go on,
I will not sit and watch my great nation fall.
I say to myself;
We need a hero to save us all.

I try to do it on my own,
The hands I once held,
I let go.
Little did I know,
It couldn't be done solo.

I call on my neighbours,
Saying,"Our leaders have failed us,
It is time for we, the youth, to labour".
They refuse to react-
They call me the lame one.

I voice that this makes me sad,
They turn back;
They call me MAD!
