My Pain,Your PleasureA Poem by Lizzy ElliotThis was triggered by my emotional experience... I invite you to my alter heart. In the middle of the night, I wake to reality.. The darkness constrains my sight, Shutting my eyes from clarity. I turn to you and stare, You're deep in sleep. Your fears in deep slumber; I watch you glare- Your dream, you can't resist.. Its a new dawn. I shut the window. I curse at the piercing sun, My eyes still shut. Ahead of me,you brush your teeth, Already on your feet, Ready for the uncertainty the day brings. I wonder what gives you peace! Do you not see me crawl? Are you blind to my suffering heart? I hope you catch me,lest I fall. Save me from this mental attack! Do you count my pain your pleasure? I'm mazed at your silent response. Its a shame I feel unseen, I guess my feelings are nothing but a shoestring. Last night,I woke to darkness- Like every other night, Only this time, I embraced its rosiness. You try hard to muffle your cries, I felt the darkness pierce through your heart. The sheet between us vibrate your fears, Not even your shadow could glare. At sunrise, you shut the curtains, You curse at the sun; Your eyes still shut. I was on my feet, Ready for the dose of pain, The world offered to bring. For a second, As you lay,I wonder, You may think I have peace! Do you count my pleasure, your pain? Walking away isn't an option, I watch you in silence, My heart brimming empathy. The sudden realisation! Your beam was more so a façade! You buried your emotions deep, Did you not think it would overwhelm you indeed? My pain never went unnoticed to you, You bore sorrow yourself, It turns out, you did mean well. From this moment on, We will be our strength, Should either of us stumble, We would find pleasure in our pain! © 2016 Lizzy ElliotAuthor's Note
