Hercules

Hercules

A Poem by Elizabeth Landis
"

a tiny poem

"

The boy chose the highest rock

gazing over the gulf, a hand's breadth above the horizon.

With closed eyes he dreamed, building his dreams on old stories.

Always of a hero.

Confident that one day he too would earn a name in history.
