Love

I wrote this poem a few years ago and I decided to share this special word that means so much more than it is to me.

The most magical word in the world, 

there’s no one right answer 

to define such a beautiful thing. 

We all try to find it within 

ourselves and in each other. 

This word is what we strive for in life 

it could mean: passion, frustration, sadness  

and overcoming to feel something  

special that makes us feel accomplished  

in what we find in each other.  

Love is what we want and it can bring us together  

in a powerful way that can lead to  

happiness and harmony. 

For me love is like a roller-coaster 

with the people I live with  

or the person I find and want  to stay with. 

Love can make you do great things or things you  

wish you could take back. It’s a warm feeling, 

but could turn to darkness within an instant.  

So what is love to me? 

It’s more than emotions and connections, it’s stronger  

when you say it out loud and it  

can make us feel every other emotion within us.

The definition of love in this poem is presented in a very down-to-earth way but if I am being honest it was a bit too naff for my liking but for a 16 year old your talent for writing is to be envied :) bravoo
