The Meantime

The Meantime

A Poem by Mercury Mirrors
"

this has been on my comp 4 weeks. Im engulfed by my fanfiction and my poetry has been suffering for it. But, at least I have this new piece to add :P plz dont b too cruel, I've been on a long hiatus.

"

When the fragile shell of your reality shatters,

Wiping out all that you know, all that matters,

It’s mostly darkness, so many sleepless nights,

But through the broken cracks there is always light.

Someone drops your heart on the dirty ground,

Throbbing, bleeding, dejected, waiting to be found.

You try so hard to help it keep up its will to survive.

Thrown into friends and fake smiles to keep it alive.

Temporary life support, a back up generator.

Preserved in the freezer to be thawed out later.

It’s an empty existence but it’s all you can do.

Until someone comes around and to your rescue.

Break ups are hard, but open the creative muse for us writers. Nice write about loss and the path to re-find yourself.
