Happy Birthday, Boogieman. (Don's Bday Poem Draft 1.)

A Poem by Mercury Mirrors
"

Don & I have the same bday. tommorow, sept 3rd. We had our parties planned out when we were together. Buuut now he's gone & the sweet boy I knew grew up ionto a bitter man, & I'm burning the wooden roses he gave me one of my fave nights, almost a year ago

"

I’m burning roses tonight, the ones you bought me at the Fair.
That night was magical to me, but I can tell you never cared.
I’ll never be your Mrs. Hartley, I’ll just stay my sweet self.
Go back to your little lover, just please take care of yourself.
I hope to God that she can teach you to let somebody in.
If you stay cold to the world, than you’re never gonna win.
Your father’s wrong, getting close to somebody is worth it.
Even if in the end they hurt you & tell you you’re not worth s**t.
Take it from me, I learned about heartbreak from the f*****g King.
I take my baths in my own tears now, but I still wouldn’t change a thing.
I always said if I had a time machine I never would have met you.
But I lied about that too, I just never would have left you.
Don’t look me in the eyes & tell me “It’s never too late”
All the while I was trying, you’d already picked my fate.
Everything happens for a reason, even s**t like this.
I mean, a week after I dumped you you had a f*****g list!
Of like 15 other girls that you wanted to find & kiss.
If that’s what you call love than you’re heart’s filled with piss.
Or frozen piss, since nowadays you’re just like ice.
You never smile, never laugh, you’re never even nice.
I’ve tried to talk to you & be there as a friend.
But you drove me away & now even that has to end.
Even Rico sees the changes in you, the light in your eyes died.
But happy birthday anyway just one more year of pain to hide!
