Stop Playing Tough.A Poem by Mercury MirrorsThis happened today. Some chick started kidding at me & then she got real offensive & when im like 'you'd better hope you're kidding' everyone takes it as a threat & gets all scared & gets me in trubble & im just like 'omg they say schI’ve about had enough of sitting in this school.
Listening to girls diss then laugh like they’re so cool.
They have no clue how close I am to just snapping.
The beast inside of me is about through napping.
I don’t want to hurt anyone, I’ve seen too much.
But if you don’t back off you’re gonna need a crutch.
You haven’t seen your boyfriend waste away on drugs.
And when he gets away from them turns out he’s just a thug.
The distance stretches between you like an ocean.
You know he’ll never be the same person again.
His shell is left empty but that he’s filled with hate.
The pot & crack has ruined something once thought fate.
My cousin’s dead, so sick of the world, he left us.
You kids that teased him should be made to face justice.
So what if someone’s different, at least they’re not you.
Laughing, smiling, with no idea what we are put through.
It’s horrible what happens by my house on the streets.
A walk home can turn bad it depends who you meet.
The only choice we have is to carve new hearts of stone.
So stop saying you’re not scared & leave me alone. © 2008 Mercury MirrorsFeatured Review
