I had a love once but he set like the Sun.

Now I’m alone again, & I have no one.

My Sun is gone, ran away & out of sight.

Now I’m left in the dark dwelling in endless night.

 

No more light to keep me from stumbling

No strong hands to keep me from tumbling

Into heartbreak, despair, I can’t take any more.

Now I finally understand the pain that he bore.

 

Never again will I push him into this situation.

Never again will I give up his love for infatuation.

I will stand by your side, you can look down at me with pride,

Knowing that I’m your girl & that I’ve got nothing to hide.

 

We can be together again, we’ll never grow apart.

I’ll trust you with everything, including my heart.

The Day has come again, & now is the time for a fresh start.

In the book of life, we’re just getting to the good part.
