A Runaway From Love

A Runaway From Love

A Poem by Mercury Mirrors

What is this spell you’ve cast?
You haunt me with my past.
All the things you did to me.
You hold them in front of me.

There’s a gleam in your eye
As you watch me scream & cry
Reliving painful things
The tears in my eyes sting.

It’s all I think about
It seems there’s no way out.
Release me from this hell
Unlock the door to my cell.

Please get me out of here.
I want to disappear.
And hide away in fear
Of the voice that I hear

Your laughter chasing me
Your face is all I see
You smile so cruelly
And talk so smoothly

Fooled me once before
I’m not blind anymore.
I’ll never be your w***e.

Baby, you’re not my chore.
