The heavy gray clouds seem to press down on me,
They’re all around me, they’re all that I see.
Thick, silver mist obscuring my vision,
I wave my hand through it to make an incision. I take back my hand, wet with the perspiration’s kiss.
I try to take a step, but my foot finds a ledge.
It’s but a foot in front of me, & I can’t see the edge.
“If I just stay where I am, I know I won’t fall” I think to myself, trying not to move at all.
But somehow still the ground disappears,
And I plunge face-first into my nightmares & fears.
