What Are We To Do?

What Are We To Do?

A Poem by Mercury Mirrors
"

It probably sucks since I was in a daze when I wrote it, but Enjoy anyway :] just don't be too hard on me or I'll cry...see? ;-;

"

Baby, how the hell did it come to this?
It went from “I love you” And a kiss
To your face’s first meeting with my fist.
We shot for happiness & missed.

We missed the bulls-eye by a long shot,
There must be something that we forgot,
This fiery, burning hatred that we begot,
Is now killing our souls & making them rot.

(chorus)
So what are we to do?
There’s so much rage between us two.
I know you really hate me.
And you know that I hate you too.
But I still feel warm when you call me ‘boo’
Oh, honey, what are we to do?
(chorus end)

Oh now you tell me you still love me,
After you fell out & weren’t who you seemed to be.
Well I won’t be fooled by your blue eyes, so pretty.
Or sweet words that you whisper in my ear, so softly.

There was no excuse for all of your betrayal.
Don’t even ask why my feelings for you are growing stale.
This gentle breeze that began is now a destructive gale.
And you’ve ended up in Cupid’s prison. I’m not gonna pay the bail.

(chorus)
And what are we to do?
There’s so much rage between us two.
I know you really hate me.
And you know that I hate you too.
But I still feel warm when you call me ‘boo’
Oh, honey, honey. What are we to do?
(chorus end)

I'm a thinking....great song lyrics! I like these lines the best:

Well I won't be fooled by your blue eyes, so pretty.
This gentle breeze that began is now a destructive gale.
And you've ended up in Cupid's prison. I'm not gonna pay the bail.

Great stuff Lizzi! Keep it up. :)
