99 Black Roses

99 Black Roses

A Poem by Mercury Mirrors

My fist closes

Over the stems of 99 roses

Black as night

A morbidly beautiful sight

The thorny stems

Cut into my hands, slice them

Crimson, Scarlet, RED

The colors of the blood that spreads

Over white cloth

My dress, soft & light like the wings of a moth

I understand that this is unfinished. I just wanted to point out that black roses aren't actually grown black. They are a very dark purple that you can pick up in full sunlight. ...That is if they don't use dye to make them black. I don't know if that changes anything, but I figured it couldn't hurt to tell.

I think you have a very good start on this. When do you think it'll be finished?
