Love is Love

This is inspired by "Valerie's Autobiography" My favorite scene from my favorite movie in the world, "V For Vendetta" It makes me cry every single time I see it...& I've watched just this scene 6 times in a row just now...So I'm ba

Two has always been better than one.
But two of the same isn’t right to some.
It’s a sad little fact, but painfully true,
That I could be hated for loving you.

The only difference is in gender,
A kiss is still a kiss, still warm & tender.
Just because we have the same parts,
Doesn’t give them the right to keep us apart.

It doesn’t give you a right to stare,
To shoot someone self-righteous glares,
Only justified by what we know to be the norm,

But love is still love, no matter the form.

love is love ,no matter ,everyone is free to do as he likes,i know what you mean dear ,in the past even in our land ,these were very the norm ,now everything changed ,but does not mean they are right ,if you read one thousand night, arabian nights, you would see all these kinds of love a thousand years ago ,why the change now ,i really do not know ,you are right ,in every word you say

That scene is utterly touching. I remember first seeing it and finding myself sobbing; the music, the colors, the inspiration and then the sad ending. I read the book and the story is just as sad and beautiful in print as in celluloid. (Hail, V, I love thee)

Thanks for writing this. There are those who need more voices - voices like yours - to wipe away the hate from this word.

(Congrats on the award!)

Best,

This write has a soft ethereal in its flow but voices a poignant undertone of a discouraged heart. I think you drove the message home quite well. I would consider removing 'what' from the last line. Read it aloud and see how it sounds - "Love is still love, no matter the form" - If you're not inclined to agree, 'tis all good.

This is really beautiful! Love is a wonderful thing and should be shared by everyone who is willing to give it, regardless of gender! This poem does a great job capturing the idea that two people should not be isolated or considered "wrong" for loving each other, especially in a world where this is so little love, anyway. ;-; Oh, and I love the movie "V For Vendetta" & that scene is gorgeous. Great job! (:

Wow, this piece is fantastic! You covered such a touchy subject in few words, yet the point is made clearly. It flows very well also. Thanks for sharing

A very touching poem and I agree with you. Love is love. If we find real love that makes us lucky. Your poem is warm yet it is also very strong. I like it very much. It is easy to read and gets right to the point. Too bad the world can find reasons to hate love.
