Step Into Chaos

Step Into Chaos

A Poem by Mercury Mirrors

I grew up in a nice place.
I knew nothing of the world.
I knew nothing of pain,
I was just a little girl.

Then I took a step outside,
And the walls fell down.
Everywhere I turned,
Someone was getting shot down.

I tried to shake myself awake.
It didn't work I started crying.
Stood still while people were running.
Trampling the dead & dying.

I was like a rock in a river.
The crowd flowed around me.
Though many eyes found mine.

Not one of them could see me

Blood rained down with bombs,
From a red & black sky.
Not a drop of it touched me,
Something wouldn't let me die.

What do they want me to see?
There's nothing I can do or say.
One girl who speaks her mind,
Can't make it go away.

This was really amazing & captured the horror of discovering the nasty world for the first time. =o Now THAT'S frightening. I also love the last two lines, kinda sad but pretty all the same! ^_^
