Love Chain

Love Chain

A Poem by Mercury Mirrors
"

This is a song about the time that I loved Max, but he loved J, & then Don & Richie loved me. It's a chain ^^.

"

You told me "Nothing's impossible." But is that really true?

For it seems quite impossible to be the girl for you.

You're so innocently unaware of how far deep this goes.

And will it ever go away? heaven only knows.

This is a chain, a cold steel chain.

A love chain constructed of my heart's pain.

They love me, I love you, you love her, she does not.

How long has it been left this way?

So long that I forgot.

It will continue to be this way.

The links of the love chain will rust & fray.

Well your love IS impossible to get.

But still in this dilema, my heart is firmly set.

Though I may not weather this wait alone.

Because I don't do very well on my own.

I'll always be one short step behind.

Lonely & sad in my heart, soul, & mind.

The chain is a classic source of metaphor in poetry and this is very effective use. Good work.

You know, I usually don't care much for rhymed poems, but this one totally struck me. I felt your pain. It was simple, to the point and tragic. Makes me want to go slap whoever the guy is for you! LOL Seriously though, very well done.
