Silenced screams

Domestic violence. Domestic violence in the UK stats show that one woman every 5 seconds is a victim to this abuse. Yet its still a 'non talked' about subject.

The shouts and screams

 makes the silence so loud

A monster, an ogre

He stands so proud.

Lifting his hand

 to a sting on her face

she cries out loud

 but silence is placed. 

He's sorry through smiles

 She's weakened by pain.

No tears can be heard

but pouring rain.

The ogre has left

 And the demons have gone

 This once beautiful lady

 has nothing to mourn.

A shadow now is

 of this once gallant lady

clutching her stomach

 where once was her baby.

The screams that echoed inside her head

are now silenced outside

As she lay there

 Dead

Powerful and heart wrenching piece. Unfortunately this is a problem all over the world. Abusers not only torture their victims, the manipulate them as well. This causes the victim to believe that they do not deserve any better or, at the very least, defenseless to stop it.
