Fly High

Fly High

A Poem by LizBot3
"

Grief and loss can be so hard. A rollercoaster of emotion, sometimes you can forget how to look back with a smile rather than a tear. My Dad requested "no weepies, only happy memories". So I smile.

"
Red hair, blue stare, a laugh that I'd know anywhere
Cheeky grin, the quiff of sin, the pranks that you would always win
Random call, that Limerick drawl, memories now make us bawl
Angel wings, the little things, your pride whenever I would sing
I miss your face, I miss your grace, there's only tears now in your place
I hear your voice, its in my heart, your love is where I'll make a start
To heal my soul and let pain go
I just wanted you to know, to me your soul will never die,
You just moved up, and learned to fly.

LizBot3
Im lucky enough to have an outlet like songwriting and poetry to process and make peace with my feelings. Its my therapie, my vent and eventually my sanity and peace. Reading back what I write allows me to understand myself and find peace. I hope someone else feels that peace from reading my poems. Each one is part of me.

'Fly High'
Lizbot,
Hi. Sitting here giving a review is a nice thing to do this Saturday morning and I hope your day is going well. Memories still fresh with kindness between the lines and words. Your poem speaks to the importance of the love and security which builds us from the inside out. To know such blessing is truly a gift. Thanks for sharing your own personal experience and joy!
Blessings,
Kathy
