I Am Not Afraid

I Am Not Afraid

A Poem by Liz

Cautious to make my every move,

Paranoid about every voice,

Constantly looking over shoulders,

Attempting to be rid of my enemies,

Violently tearing away at my composure,

How is it you think that’s okay?

To manipulate the minds of others,

As if that is the only way,

But who deserves the brutal treatment,

When we’ve all screwed up so many times?

And here I am in your darkness

How many of your words have been lies?

I’ll stare at you with my eyes wide open,

I Am Not Afraid.

I feel like you and I have similar writing styles, maybe because we have experienced similar things in our lives?... Not sure, but I really like reading your works. I seem to connect with every one I read.

beautifully done for such a topic. and the emphasis on the eyes wide open, the windows to the soul. love it.

This was well written and I like how you seemed to pour out your heart in the poem. It really goes along with the story that I just posted! Well done! :p
