A Memory

A Memory

A Poem by Liz

I’ll tiptoe through my memories and maybe I will find

a moment or a minute, a picture or a time,

when night’s chilled wind was kind.

Whose thundering howl plucked me from my comfort

to carry me through it’s sky.

Maybe as I wander I’ll float above the clouds,

or maybe as I wander I’ll stumble to the ground.

And I’ll reach the gates beneath the pavement with open arms

as I leap into their welcome,

my eyes reflecting in the flames.

And if you see me asking for water

drink it yourself.

This poem has depth and darkness with flashing moments of incredible beauty to end in bitter darkness. I like the frank honesty in this writing, and the imagery. Nice writing.
