I Need a Hero

I Need a Hero

A Poem by Minerva

You're there I know it

I’m still

Breath slow, almost silent

Knowing the damage has been done

Help me.

This is all I think as my vision darkens

I screamed out for help

It was silly of me to think this time someone would come

Save me.

But it is too late

By the time someone comes there will be no life left save

See me.

One more desperate cry

Take me.

You're there I know it

I can feel you

No longer scared

I welcome you

Thank you.

You know, I always wanted a big brother in my life, I wanted someone to look up to, someone to call a hero, but then I realized something, one thing I will never forget... the hero was always inside of me, and I from that day on, looked up to him and continued without the need of any one else but....... Me
