A Poem by living lavender
"

better than cameltoe

"
your hands hold me in place
my urge to resist gone without a trace
as you pull me into your embrace
longing dripping from your lips

the way your eyes sparkle
scintillating only just for me
right here - right now
puts all christmas lights to shame

i feel my cheeks burn like the fireplace
my skin coming ablaze beneath your touch
butterflies? ha. that silly word
puts every emotion within me to shame

how i can't look away from your face
the way you lick your lips
anticipating my taste
puts an entire candy cane forest to shame

i hold my breath as you draw nearer
my lips yearning to feel your kiss
oh silly me, dear reader
not the ones upon my face...

Oh the metaphor is delightful
your usage of it far from frightful
let it poem, let it poem, let it poem.

Love this one, lavender...especially "i feel my cheeks burn like the fireplace" and puts an entire candy cane forest to shame."

I like the use of lower case "i" as I often do that in my poems because I think the content is more important than the speaker...

hahaha. this image brought a smile to my face.
:)
{thank you for the laugh.}
Well jingle my bells and call me a nutcracker, that was spicy. Forgive that awful opening, but I wasn't sure how else to drop into this. This wonderful poem makes me think of a few poems of my own brewing in my head. The last two lines make me smile, for multiple reasons. For the obvious ones, and for the second to last line in particular. That voice. That sense of style. "Dear Reader." I know it somewhere but just can't put my finger on it.... Either way, it makes me smile.

Also "Better than cameltoe" is the best description for a poem I think I've ever read.

Thank you for sharing this spicy poem. Consider the halls decked.
