The last part of the poem is thought provoking. Many times it feels like people either feel unheard or are terrified of being heard. And it's sadly true that most of the time people only listen to what they want to hear. Humanity always wants to circle back to itself, with our own egos often getting in the way of honestly connecting with other. If we're not open to truly listen, what's the point of speaking? And often when our words are heard, judgement follows, for better or worse. That definitely could scare someone into the submission of silence.

sometimes i feel i talk to much and wonder if anyone is truly listening. or do they not interrupt because they are afraid to share themselves.
i do not believe people have nothing to say. i believe they either do and/or feel something and do not know how to put either into words.

Everyone has something to say, but they don't always share it. That's kind of how I feel about reviewing other peoples work, really. Over the years of writing, I've learned that MOST who engage with online writing of any kind or a silent majority. People don't know what to say, or they aren't sure how to say it. Or maybe they just don't want to bring attention to themselves. But I've also learned that when we engage with other creatives, it really helps. Not only the people we reach out to, but ourselves also. That's just my take on it. I'm just glad to vocalize my support, and hope to see you keep writing. When I first started writing, sharing my work with other people, it really meant a lot to me when someone would come along and engage with what I was doing. And (most of the time) the feedback was constructive, and helped me a lot.

{much appreciated.}
that makes such sense...fearful that they will be asked to speak....opposite from those who pretend to listen but are really just formulating what they want to say next.

{deep down} we all just want to be heard. not judged.
some never speak. in fear of it.
others talk too loud. so they can't hear what others are saying.
{judgement included.}
If such people exist, they are definitely not in politics.
