Relapse

Relapse

A Poem by LivingDeath

1:13 am
That familiar urge is back
the uncontrollable itch,
like a baby yearning for his mothers sweet breast.
As seconds tick like hours
the fire rips my sanity apart
though one thing remains unchanged.
Tick..
Tick..
Tick..
Tick..
These quite sounds are deafening
like the unheard screams of a broken heart,
but my heart is not broken.
Nor is my voice,
yet this moment remains my solitary sanctum.
Tick..
Tick..
Tick..
Tick..
The clocks tick is like a tiny drip of water
falling to its demise from the faucet on which it hangs
rinsed away with the rest of time.
Into the darkness where lost souls hide.
Tick..
Tick..
Tick..
Tick..
That itch is back
clawing within my flesh
my mind.. and my sanity,
Tick..
Ti......
Time stops..
the air around me deathly quite,
this moment unchanging.
Life?
.. What is life?
...Tick..
Tick..
The plangent pulse continues
those seconds that echo silent
Tick..
Tick..
Tick..
Tick..
1:14 am
Relapse.

This feels as if it were a moment of your life. Facing relapse is what all face, no matter if it's addiction or not

Its refreshing to run into something new and unique like this. You have a wonderful way with words that paint a picture and also string along emotions through each verse.

Great job,
Vinny~

The concept was well-written out. An epic masterpiece for sure. Well done! And I hope this is based from imagination. But if it isn't, you have my sympathy. I am sorry.

But keep writing because this is really good (and a good outlet for emotions).

If you really did relapse I am sorry.

But you did a wonderful job. I loved the suspense and how you captured every moment.

I hope you didn't really relapse like I did.

"That itch is back
clawing within my flesh
my mind.. and my sanity"

I love this part and the whole layout.. The words speak a truth that we've at one time or another experienced.. The end where you use "Relapse" one word..but powerful messages come from it..xxx
