Break

Break

A Poem by LivingDeath

All thats left
is the unfamiliar taste,
of a friend
on my lips.

Something that should
not of ever happened,
burdens on my back
like a candle in the wind.

I knew she liked me
but not like that,
now I'm lost
confused in pain.

I'm in love with some one else
but after that,
how can I say
the words that will break my friend.

My best friend
the one there from the start,
I don't want to hurt them
but I can't let this go on.

I don't like them like that
I'm in love with someone else,
but to say the words that will break my friend
how can I ever do that?

All thats left
is the unfamiliar taste,
of a friend
on my lips.

Ouch, this is the worst thing in the world. I just hope I'm never caught in the situation shown here in your poem. I can imagine the emotional turmoil, but I can understand it a little. I went out with a guy who liked me, but I only liked him as a friend. It was very awkward.

I think this is definitely something all of us can relate to in one way or another. Kudos on the piece. Wonderful.

I can see this is a very emotional thing for you, but only you can make the decision on what to do.

ooo, nicely done. Enjoyed the phonetics of this more than anything else. the hard 'ee' and 'ie' sounds are just great throughout it.
