Grandpa Hold My Hand

Grandpa Hold My Hand

A Poem by LivingDeath
"

Written with tears flowing from my eyes.

"
Grandpa hold my hand
just like you used to do,
take me in your arms
Grandpa I love you.

Tell me once again
the stories of your life,
how you met my gram
your dearly beloved wife.

Show me your great big smile
that always warmed my heart,
Grandpa hold my hand
this is the hardest part.

I know you cannot speak
but you spoke tears to my eye,
you told Grandma not to leave
you want her there, for when you die.

I'm coming to say my last goodbyes
and tell that I love you,
I'll take your hand into my palm
just like you used to do.

Reminds me a little of a song I wrote when my Grandpa had passed away. Sometimes grief aides us in writing in some strange, eerie way. Well done.

This is very beautiful. Grandparents are such a gift that you must hold onto dearly! I miss having grandparents! Always hold the memories close to your heart!

Awe this is beautiful and sad. It made me want to cry. I lost my Grandpa when I was like nine years old. I have my other one still alive and I saw him last week. I know how hard it is to get over someone's death. I have been through many years of sorrow after this. Thanks for sharing this piece.
