Goodbye Black Bird

Goodbye Black Bird

A Poem by LivingDeath
"

A metaphorical poem about anything. It can be about a mom or dad, sister or brother. A drug addiction, a friend, or life itself. Its up to you.

"
A black bird perched
on my window sill,
looked me in the eye
hello little bird.

It sat there through
the wind and rain,
talked to me at nights
goodnight little bird.

Watching me through panes of glass
it cries a plea to me,
no more no more no more it screams
I'm sorry little bird.

I am not holding you here I say
and wait for it to fly,
but still it stays here anyhow
thankyou little bird.

But I woke one morning
to find its left,
a feather in the crack
goodbye little bird.

In my opinion this is a piece of art. Very beautifully written, creates an image in the readers mind or atleast it did for me... I don't know really how to explain what this poem brought to my mind... Some memories that were neither good nor bad.

Very well done

I like this very much. I almost wanted to read it as a story like "goodnight moon" that's what the title reminded me of. I like the third stanza the best when you describe how like you almost want it or the bird to leave but it just won't. I like this poem. Great job!

This is something very new indeed. I did get the Poe feel from this poem, but it's less dark and haunting to the mind then other poems I've read. Great job though.

In Native American culture. The black bird can mean many things. They are warning for bad things to come. I like this story. Animals are more sensitive to the world and the movement. A excellent poem. You made me think.

wow. at first it reminded me of "The Raven" by Poe but as I started reading it, I realized that this is unique and sort of lighter in mood compared to the raven. Nice read and hope I get to read more from you. :D

This reminds me of a little Buck deer that was getting so tame I could feed him, he stayed for a couple of years and then was gone..I hated myself for taming him as he was so trusting he probably was shot..lola nd God bless..Kathie
