War Isn't The Answer

War Isn't The Answer

A Poem by LivingDeath
"

About the wars going around the world and what it is causes for the youth and families in the midst of the destruction.

"
Really what is going on
in this world that we call home,
is the price of oil
worth a babies life alone.

Kids walking through the streets
of blood soaked Afghanistan,
why are we in this fight
why do we need this land.

The government is corrupted
sending money to fuel this war,
why not feed the homeless
and all who are to poor.

Kids growing up with needles
in the dark they hide,
because all their families are dead
resorting to teen suicide.

Is this what Bush wanted
to destroy a humans dream,
to take away their everything
but the echo of a scream.

Starving in the dusty streets
people die with every day,
with no clean water to keep them alive
what more is there to say.

My father once told me
a quote with a sigh,
"When the rich wage war
it's the poor who die."

I dont see how the government cant see what you see, and how you see it. Its obvious to everyone BUT them.

Wow, this was raw. I love it, the war we have going today is unnecessary and stupid, yet has been going on for years now. The quote at the end is too true, it is our family members that risk their lives fighting for something that government rulers started yet they get to stay safe in their homes, commanding from afar. It's not fair at all. My favourite stanza has got to be -
"Is this what Bush wanted
to destroy a humans dream,
to take away their everything
but the echo of a scream."
Amazing job, thank you for sharing!

Your words are a cry that sounds above the storm of gunfire. May we learn peace. In your last lines there is such a haunting vision... so true. Excellent, moving write.
