The Darkness

The Darkness

A Poem by LivingDeath
"

The take off in a plane at night put into a poetic form of emotions

"
Ember red specs
amongst the black quilt,
until darkness takes over
and all the lights wilt.

Into the sea of darkness
with nothing to be seen,
no stars, no moon, no land below
this darkness is obscene.

Surrounded by the emptiness
surrounded by the dark,
surrounded by the nothingness
of this long embark.

Soon to see the light again
and feel the suns warm glow,
but for now the darkness controls the night
this darkness continues to grow.

Good poem, though i feel the meaning of darkness in this is a bit weak. Though it depends on others thoughts on how darkness should be portrayed.

the darkness doesn't seem so dark in this write, i applaud you for delving in the silence and mystery of the dark yet still hold onto hope of the light coming.

Very good. The personification of darkness gave the poem a feel of realism. However, I felt that the rhyme scheme became a bit taxing near the end, because, when I read it, it sounded like you were struggling to find rhymes. However, this is probably just me. The sort of alternate rhyming couplets seem to emphasise the feel that the darkness is seeping in, breaking up the flow of rhyme.
Rather good, though improvements can always be made

Very well written again. I can relate to it like many others that you have written. I am almost in tears. After reading one of your stories.

I read this without reading what it actually was about and it left it wide open for interpretation. However, now knowing what it is about I think you captured it perfectly. The detail and imagery only add to the beauty of the overall picture. Really a great job. I thoroughly enjoyed this piece.

This is great - such an interesting and beautiful look at such a 'basic' (for lack of better word) situation

well done

I really enjoyed this. I like the beginning and end the best. Although all of it is great! Thanks for the read! :)

This is cool. I remember looking out the window once while flying at night and being startled when a cloud swept past the window. Creepy and cool all at the same time.
