Chapter 4

Chapter 4

A Chapter by Chloe Christine

I wasn't sure I was ready for this. I just keep telling myself to calm down. That everything's gonna be okay. There I go again. Can't anyone else tell me to calm down? 'Cause it doesn't work when I say it.

I was going to stay here tonight, even if it killed me. Alex passed the rolled paper to me. I took it slowly. I carefully put it to my lips. I slowly inhaled. I instantly felt the rush. It was the most over-whelming feeling. I inhaled again. Deeper this time. to fing out, that is was a big mistake. I started coughing. I mean really coughing! I was embarrassed, until he started laughing. Like it was funny. He said "Are you okay?!" through his laughter. So, I knew he wasn't laughing at me. After I caught my breath and breathed for awhile, I couldn't control myself. I started laughing uncontrolably! "Oh my gosh! I need to try that one again!" We both knew what was happening.

We were laughing for what seemed like forever! Sitting on that bench, was the best thing that has happened in awhile. I loved this. The feeling was undescribable. We had such an amazing time. Or at least, I did.

The night ended around 2am. And it was amazing. This was something from a storybook. Like my mom used to read to me, before, that thing took her over.

I layed down on the bench, while he sat on the ground. We both were smiling, staring at each other. The silence drowned out everything around me, so I didn't notice to police driving by.

He broke the silence. "S**t. Uhh, Aiden. C'mon. We gotta get out of here!"

"Why?" I sounded like an idiot, cause just as I finished the sentence, I realized, the cops were walking down the street with flashlights, carrying my bike.

"Oh my god!" I almost yelled. "Yeah, Aiden. Is that your bike?" "S**t, yeah. I had to ditch it in someone's driveway!" "If they figure out that bike is yours, you will be in alot of trouble!"

I knew what he meant. But I was still dizzy, and I knew I couldn't get home running. Why hadn't I thought this through? I slipped up. I used to be so good at this! He helped me up, considering I fell off the bench in shock, took my hand, and ran. It was weird, because it's like I knew what was going to happen. While we were running, I heard someone yell, 'Stop!' I was so scared. The adrenaline rush had totally weared off already. "Gosh. Do you think they can see us, Alex?" It was hard to speak. I was scared of what he was going to say. I dreaded the anwser 'yes'.

"No, Aiden. I don't think so. But if they catch us, you are coming home with me? Got it? If they ask, you are my sister, and you were upset and ran here. That's where you come in with the crazy memory. Think of an excuse to fool them. For now, we are just gonna drive. You'll be home before 5am. I swear."

5am!!? What did he mean? I knew there was more to this than just running from cops! What had I gotten myself into?

"Why Alex? What's going on? The weed? Is that it? Tell me, please! I'm so scared. I can't be taken home by these guys!" I was about to cry, which set him off. He was worried, about being caught and about me. We were at the car and he was fumbling for his key.

"Aiden, please, please don't cry! Please, calm down! It's okay. I'll explain when we know they are gone, okay? Just, calm down."

He said it. 'Calm Down'. I was toally calm from then on. I knew it was going to be okay. I trusted the assurence in his voice. "Okay, Alex. I'm calm."

We drove for about thrity minutes. I figured we were going back to my house. I was really surprised when we pulled up on a rich, neighboring street. My house was only about a block away. He got out of the car, ditched the bag in the bushes and unlocked the front door. He skipped stairs and went into a room with the door closed and the lights off. I heard him mumble something. "Please. C'mon. They should be here any second. Derek. Please help me out here." He whispered. He sounded like he depended on this Derek guy. In an Instant, I saw Alex walk out of the room, with a guy in his, maybe early twenties, following him. Alex pulled my arm. "This is Derek. He is my older brother. He takes care of me. He is gonna help us the best he can. But of course, you don't know why he has to help. Ugh. I can't tell you unless the cops show up here. So just hold on. Please don't be scared. And also, please don't cry."

Oh my Time Lord! This is indeed a rough situation. What else has Aiden got himself in to? Thank you for saying that the drinking and the drugs resulted in cop capture, I was beginning to think you liked them as well! Then again, this is just the narration of a story. As the others said beneath, I'm curious to see what happens next! Well done!
