Coversations.

Coversations.

A Poem by Chloe Christine

COVERSATIONS

You say 'I love you dear.'

I know it could be true.

I say 'That's a great thing to say.'

She stares at me with a 'How could you do this?' look on her face.

We have a silent converstaion saying back and fourth,

'We are differnt, it's a fact of life,

We can't hold back, no helpful advice.

Take turns yelling, kills us both,

We just need to leave each other, or hide our loathe.'

She says with her face, 'You can't be my daughter.'

I just leave it at that, knowing the fight could be longer.

I can feel her stare on the back of my neck,

Saying 'Don't forget me darling. . .You were my saftey net.'

I think to myself,

'I'm no longer your help.

I don't need a mother to hold me back,

I have others to watch my step.

I know she's crying.

Thinking to herself 'Am I dying?'

Saying in a whisper,

'I wish it was true,

I don't like having these conversations with you.

I'm sorry I put you through so much hate,

Good-bye darling,

There's no more life to waste.'

I like how you wrote this. Like.. the structure of it. However towards the end it seems a little like you substituded meaning for rhyming perhaps? That was just the slight feeling I got. Still really like this piece though. :)

I know i say this to practically everything, and sorry for that, BUT i can relate, once again. It's true, these emotions you portray in this. No one likes screaming at their mother, but sometimes it's just something you have to do to get through to them. Also, the most famous hurtful mother words. Such a shame they can't understand. Nicely written.
