Damn Money

My every decision is influenced by it                                                    

 My every choice is crushed under its weight

My every need is followed by a compromise

Why living not free?

Why even for happiness world charges fee?

All because of damn money.

One may be wise

One may be intelligent

But for living in this world 

one must be affluent.

Today life is cheap (less costly)

but living expensive

reality is cheap (miserable)

but dreaming expensive.

 

With modesty you may win thousands of hearts

But without money nothing works.

Why money is of utmost importance in this materialistic world?

Why it has the power to mould

Our life, lifestyle and living??

I really like this poem. Questions of money and the correctness it has is something that floats through my head alot. I often wonder how the world would be different if money didnt exist. how the very notion of money breeds inequality. money is essentially power. the more money you have, the more power you have to give yourself more power. the less money you have, the less power you have to get yourself more power. it is in itself an odd system. Your poem is fascinating and offers a new insight into the idea of how money is so important to do anything in this world. I'm new at reviewing as this is my first review.... like ever.... but I see nothing wrong with your writing and I like the stanzas and other forms of figurative language you utalize. all in all. Excellent peice. 100/100

It is said that behind any war there are 3 reasons either self-respect or land (property ) or a girl. But in today's life the land factor i.e property or money is above all. Brother kills his brother for money, children kill their parents. Those who don't have it are tensed and those who have it are also regretting.
