Your ReflectionA Poem by Monique JacksonI am you, You are I, When you are hurting inside, The tears will flow from my eyes,
No longer you and me, Officially transformed into we, At the times you feel most weak, It will be I, who can barely stand on her feet,
The connection, This perfect imperfection, Makes it harder to get disconnected, Because when you look into the mirror I'll be your reflection,
When you cry, I will feel your pain, The unspoken words will be framed, Painting a picture to tell the story from whence they came,
Should an invasion of fears begin, I'll prevent the shadows from closing in, Standing beside you until you feel secure again, Reminding you that in my heart your safety will never end,
If life should obstruct your view, Masterminding doubt to disguise the truth, I will become the strength breathing within you, Being that woman of God that can help pray you through,
So, I am you from beginning to end, A woman who desires to love this man, To be the one who is always there to help you understand, You are the truth, my king, and I am but a mere reflection in the making… © 2008 Monique JacksonReviews
