Poetically Free

Poetically Free

A Poem by Monique Jackson

My words,

My thoughts,

Therapy for my sanity

From pain,

From chaos,

Continuous loss of gravity

Their lies,

Their games,

Those forces drained my energy

My past,

The regrets,

Aching ever inch so deep

Mere reflections,

Haunting memories,

Caused an emotional hide and seek

Those fears,

Those scars,

Boxed into a confined state of free

Every last tear,

Those heartbreaks,

Revealed distorted realities

Wasted time,

Restless nights,

Finally opened my eyes to see

My life of pain,

My journey with love,

Releasing from captivity

Silent screams,

Held within deep,

Makes my poetic passion speak

Through my art,

This creative craft,

My mind, my body, and my soul are poetically free…

Pity about the formating text being in the piece. A good read.
