In You...A Poem by Monique JacksonSpiritual realization....In you I am prefect Never once flawed Whiter than snow
In them I am marred I am unworthy of life A creature saturated in sin
In you I am the light I am the words which speak your voice Everything I was is no more because I know you
In them they see my past The see what I used to be The see…well, what I still am
In you I cry I bury myself inside So ashamed to open my eyes
If you see what I’ve seen Been where I have been Even heard the words I spoke
Oh God how do you still love me? In your image I was made in such purity But in your image is not always portrayed
Yet you still love me When they hate me When they slay me you care
So, I cry out to you how? And you cry back, "You’re my child Even when you are not in me I am still "in" you…
From the day you were born you were mine Anointed with a purpose beyond your eyes… Even when you think you have turned away
Remember in your heart I will never die Rooted and connected internally for eternity Even at the times you have strayed away from me
I am forever you and you are forever mines Because I am you and you my child am I And I will never forsake the child that often forsakes I…"
