Please don’t go any higher

Please don’t go any higher

A Poem by Lauren..

You think a ferris wheel is scary,

A snow lift is way more dangerous,

People have all kinds of fears,

People have to operate the lift,

One wrong move can be treacherous,

So go at your own risk.

I’m a skier and ride lifts regularly. A few weeks ago, a lift broke down in a mountain near me. They had to take everyone down on ropes. This poem reminded me of that. Some of us are oblivious to risks and maybe that is good thing or we’d never try anything.

I feel you, but even taking a walk is a risk.
Some people fear flying,
Some fear falling in love,
Some fear death,
Some fear loosing a loved one,
Some fear being alone,
Some fear making a bad impression.
We all have fears, but looking fear in the face and choosing to live is the only way forward.
It’s terrifying, but we can only experience the fullness of living by defying our fears.
We must engage curiosity or our creativity will die.
Our lives would be colorless and stifled.
What fun would that be?
We have to push through every negativity…even if our instincts are to retreat.
One scary step at a time…
After awhile, mastery steps in.

Thank you for sharing Lauren.
