What’s that noise

What’s that noise

A Poem by Lauren..

Not everyone is born with a disability,

People tend to take advantage of the things like getting a book off the shelf,

People have to guide your hand up and down,

People can tell you what is coming up on your path but a blind person may jump out of their skin when you surprise them,

People who are blind have to rely upon their ears and nearby noises to help them get to where they want to go,

You might know that you are in a park when you hear a sound of a water facet trickling down or kids screaming in the background,

You might know that you’re in the kitchen because you hear a mixing bowl roaring loudly,

My grandpa was blind,

Everyone was his eyes,

Things that are tragic may cause us to think differently,

Never take days for granted.

I am half blind in my left eye. it gets hard for me to read and write at times, but I enjoy both.

I take for granted all the things I consider common in my life, until I can no longer do those common things then they will become a longing for the good old days, Thank you for the poem, I really liked it.
