He Brought Me Into The World And He Can Take Me OutA Poem by Little BlueFor drifting blue, my Daddy.
Words of wisdom from one so tall,
An inspiration in wide eyes, Spinning gold in flaxen tales, For a demanding Rumpelstiltskin grin, Tickling the sides of stars, Giggling beneath the moon, The King bids good night, And his daughter drifts with winkin', blinkin' and nod, Under the sky of his kingdom creation, Words of wisdom absorbed by one so small. Words of wonder float around the living room, From a book bound by material thread, But in the right hands a world was reached, And the earth stood still, When the King's daughter met the boy who lived, By lamp light and old couches, She solemnly swore she was up to no good, And the King became a magician, Shape shifting through character's skins, Brown eyes glitter believing in magic, Words of wonder float around a childhood. Words of wisdom from the King nearly now my height, Though I am able, He still spins tales for my Rumpelstiltskin grin, From the binded genius of another King, Curling under the blanket of his voice, Childhood wonder takes me back, To the boy with the lightning bolt scar, To the princess with the magic ring and the dragon who lost his name, To the King and the Magician, One man drifting blue, His daughter admires the magic, His daughter loves his stories and the King himself, And she drifts each night with winkin', blinkin' and nod, On a bed of words, Words of wisdom from one so tall. © 2010 Little Blue |
