So See

So See

A Poem by Karina Longo

A million voices whispering the
screams I could not hear
A bunch of electric pigeons - that's what they are
I'm just a lost coloured crow here,
So see, so see.

My mind's an abandoned sanctuary
The sacred truth of being useless
remains inside me

Failing to die, failing to get on with life
The days won't bother, they keep
Passing by and by.
I've never chosen doubt but it has
chosen me,
So see, so see.

Life's mysteries, certain of death
Quite clear, quiet misunderstandings
I will not fall, I'm gonna fail
Here I stand up with my
Faded photographic memories
So see, learning from faith
So see - learning from fear.

This piece seems to be about Kevin Carter, after reading your author's note. I'm not sure if that is intentional, but either way this is a very good piece, not matter who it is about.

Karina you have penned well the torture that this young man must have felt in the horrors he photographed and felt so helpless about.

The people with talent and vision can see too much. How many men and woman have died for seeing the real world? I like the description of this man life in the poem.
"I've never chosen doubt but it has
chosen me,
So see, so see."
Thank you bringing back a good man. Need writers to keep alive people who saw the world and share their knowledge. A excellent poem.
