In Love With A Song

In Love With A Song

A Poem by Karina Longo

Can't think about the future
They say you can't guess it, you see
How come then that I already know it
You won't be there to share it with me

The fog and the fire they hurt with
The same everlasting intensity
A winter black night or a sky so bright
Don't make any difference to me

Too much talking, too many smiles
Lack of truth is just another detail
Actions and sadness shamefully withdrawn
What a lovely fireplace you have
In your splendid living room
Is there where they burnt all your deepest desires
And you've tried to leave the cold inside so soon?

You're married with kids, I know, and for a real long time
But then again there was a day
When you were just another lonely guy
You gave me a piece of paper,
said it was a song you wrote to me
Now there are some consequences,
I'm in love with a song as I can't be in love with thee.

You can't be in love witht he song without feeling something for the creator.Might not be love but think about it.You want to defend and protect the creators of great music.I love the poem but I know that she still loves the writer of the song evn if his destiny is sealed without her.

This has amazing rhythm and prose; extremely impressive and deep. You definitely kept my attention! I enjoy the fact that you manage to tell a story in your poem without using too much symbolism or being blunt. Just the perfect amount of both to leave me very pleased!

You just dropped my heart, this piece was so soul touching...you eloquently not only wrote poetry, but also a touching story. Nostalgia...thats what i felt. Wonderful, i felt as though it went really fast which i usually tend to dislike but for some reason this quick paced rhythm works for this piece. I adore it. :)

This poem is crippling. The forbidden love is powerful because it is not chosen in the story. It just somehow happened. Sometimes these things happen to good people. Life has a ton of grey area.

I agree with Magdelena very wise words yet sometimes one cannot help what the heart feels for another, particularly if one is unloved.
