Give Me Ink

Give Me Ink

A Poem by Karina Longo

This is utopia; nightmares facing the sun.
You're nothing; inky wounds.
Sparkling bubbles killing drains,
smooth disappointment
Flush it all - piss, water, cocaine dreams
and prescribed hints - lovely deadly routine

Me?
I am Snow White poisoned forever,
No one but one shadow  -
I am nothing and should be everything -
inky dreams.

I suppose theories are for the tender,
Suppositions - me, am I surreal?
I must be
Because I only try to speak the truth
At the kingdom where the lies run free
An empire must fall, although emptiness
never did.

Cold wash, hidden typed scribbles -
you slammed the door in my heart's face
You blame the wind, but still
We are the perfect shape of nothing; aching dreams.

Actions, reactions, revolutions, desillusions -
All running in the outside
when you don't cage what's inside,
Well, it would kill me if I did,
but even if it means nothing,
Someone shall write nihilism and extropianism -
So please,
give me ink.

Lovely deadly routine. Honestly, I can't think of the last time I heard three words so perfectly combined as those. You set the bar for this thing really high right off the bat, and followed all the way through without missing a beat from then on. This is my favorite piece of yours so far.

As I look down this page of reviews, I see a lot of short little blurbs with precious few constructive statements. Normally this might bother me, but I think you may have left them all speechless, and I can certainly relate to that.

Wow! I feel ice-cold after reading this with so pain and cynicism running through the veins of this poem... beautiful and so well expressed Karina. The struggles and the thought processes so well expressed here, I love it. Feels like the cold ink is running through my own veins when I read this, well done!

I must say what a lovely fantasy. The way you start with nightmares facing the sun--what a tremendous vision. to quote v. blacke down below you did leave me speechless but i wanted to give you something that i really liked at least. nicely done.

Hello!

Silly as it may sound, my first feeling after reading this was to send you a box of ink :P

This piece is wonderful in its metaphor, you've obviously put a lot of work into the mechanics of it and it shows! Blaming the wind for slamming the door in the face of the speaker's heart- very creative and understandable, as is the entire poem.

Ink made of pixels or not; you use it well! Thank you for sharing,

oh. very thought-provoking. the impressive choice of words makes the whole piece interesting. :) the title itself suggests power. the imagery is perfect, and how you ended the poem with those last three words are masterfully made. a true work of art.. :) Great write!! ^_^

Your use of the language is masterful. This piece is fanciful but also dark and foreboding, and full of defiantly memorable lines, particularly "Flush it all - piss, water, cocaine dreams and prescribed hints - lovely deadly routine." That was a generous stroke of genius, and this poem is lovely deadly work of art.
