Dear Joe

Dear Joe

A Poem by Karina Longo
"

A letter, an advice, one last goodbye before letting you go and face the world.

"

(Well maybe I’m wrong but I don’t care)

Dear Joe,

before you go - don’t turn your back

and take your bag away

I’ll have to make you stay; see

The world ain’t spinnin’ round you

The world’s just spinnin’ fast

And we’re so young and old

Dear Joe,

remember that people are cold

They won’t even say a word of compassion

Don’t carry your distraction of

think that everything

is a mirror of yourself

It brokes and may won’t fix very well

The secret is to just let it flow

Oh but before you take your bag away

I gotta make you stay

and make you understand that -

The world ain’t spinnin’ round you

the world’s just spinnin’ fast

However, not everything is a bless

Keep your eyes open before you run -

We're always right and wrong

My dear Joe,

remember that people are bold

They will say whatever they

need to - win the fight - and make you

lose yr sight

So don't carry your distraction of think

that everything is a mirror of yourself

It brokes and may won’t fix very well

The way is just to keep it strong

Maybe I’m just too young,

Oh, maybe I could be wrong

Or maybe I’m just too old

But those words should have been told -

to you dear Joe.

Absolutely agree with Neva and Rikkevi .... very powerful poem .. though ideally you could have thrown in some positive points as well .. but then again , the ideal is not always realistic .. what you have written here is very realistic .. parents do this all the time ..
great work !! 100/100

I can't express what I really feel with my voice. But I can write it down with my mind. This poem is wonderful! It is so close to my heart :) Thanks for sharing Karina!

very lyrical indeed. I could hear the music around this as I read the words. Its such a sorrowful goodbye but very well written.

The equivalent to a dear John letter, I think
there’s nothing more devastating then getting
a letter of goodbye and farewell and not being
able to do it face to face…A true sadness to
end a relationship with paper and pen..

I definitely like the parts about the mirror and that the world does not revolve around you.
