You Were Given Life.

You Were Given Life.

A Poem by Brianna Alexandria Wolf
"

Mistakes.

"
Their cynical prodigy
born of dead flesh
and artificial love
sins beyond the soil
kindled below
Their edifice of fractured limbs
and scarred tissue mass
fragmented vine veins
pressing through the sinew
digging roots into the bones
stitching up the joints
filtering the life
Their mistake
full of imperfect dreams
impractical hopes of splendor
unfeasible intentions to serve justice
and wreak havoc
Their son.
Their daughter.
Their child.
The heir.

Parents do have dreams for their children...and sometimes they are imperfect and unfeasible. Still, parents do the best they can. Children do not come with an owner's manual! It means a lot to some to have an heir to carry on their traditions and lifestyles. Good poetry. Lydi**
